Each placemat is cut from a single rigid round of 3 mm acrylic, 38 cm across: wide enough to frame a dinner plate with the print showing all the way round, and substantial enough to sit flat and steady on linen, wood or stone without curling or sliding. The artwork is printed on the underside and sealed beneath a clear, high-gloss acrylic face, so the design is protected from cutlery and everyday wear while the top keeps its shine. Every disc is cut and polished to a smooth, rounded edge, with no sharp lip.

Wipe with a soft, damp cloth after each use. Don't wipe it dry — dust and grit have nothing to glide on and can leave fine scratches across the gloss. Keep two things away from it: ammonia (most glass and household cleaning sprays) and acetone (nail polish remover). Both attack acrylic on contact, leaving it clouded or finely cracked (what's called crazing), and it can't be undone.
